Setting Up Your Basic Twitter Account
Go to www.twitter.com. On the sign-up form, put in the Twitter username that you would like.
Make sure that the email address you use is the one that you want to receive your Twitter notifications.
Click on “Create my account.” Twitter provides a brief tutorial.
Then the third step is to add from your email account. Choose an email account that you use, such as Gmail. A screen will pop up asking you for permission to have Twitter access your Gmail account. Give permission and choose 5 of your contacts to send a Twitter notification. Now go to “Skip this step.)
Personalize your profile by uploading a photograph or business logo.
To add your photo, click on “Upload Image” button which takes you to your computer to select a photo.
You can now fill in your biography or skip for now. Biography should be short, descriptive and convey the sense of who you or your business is.
Check your email for a confirmation email from Twitter. Once you have confirmed, you can go back to your account.
Go to “View My Profile.” Then go to “Edit My Profile” and fill in the information requested.
Then click on “Design” tab on the left hand side. Pick a premade theme. Save changes.
Now you are ready to start following other Tweeters and to post your tweets.
